What does it mean to be a PTSA Member?

Greetings, Orca Families!

 

Our mission as a PTSA is to provide educational support for teachers and students while having some fun!  We would love to focus our efforts on giving the teachers our aid and appreciation while they continue to support our children in the classroom. Some ways we are hoping to do that this year is with teacher supply grants, library and music funding and staff appreciation. Many of these are also indirectly benefiting our children like using grants and funding to purchase flexible seating in the classroom, recorders for music, or new books for a fun reading challenge. We also continuously look for ways to engage our children here at PES.  We cannot wait to have families attend our fun activities at school like our Fall Event, Family Fun Nights, Coffee & Community and our beloved Jog-A-Thon.

 

Signing up as a member of our PTSA gains you a voice and vote in support of our teachers and students at PES. Membership costs $20 for a single membership and $30 for a couple and comes with benefits such as discounts to Great Wolf Lodge, Car Rentals, Tacoma Dome, the Washington State Fair and so much more! We have scholarships available for those who would like to join but don’t have the financial means to do so. However, signing up for a membership does not mean you are required to volunteer at events.

 

For anyone that is interested in volunteering, we encourage you to do that in any capacity you
are able- whether that's an hour of your time setting up before an event, helping pass out water at our Jog-A-Thon, or spending a day putting together baskets for our Spring Shoebox Lunches- we truly appreciate any time you are able to give. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can pick up a volunteer packet at the front office or find it on the district website.
